I am an Alaska Native (Tlingit & Aleut) serving as the Executive Director of Chugachmiut, Inc., an Alaska Native Tribal consortium serving the people of the Chugach. I have been a licensed attorney in Alaska since 1978, although my license is currently inactive while I pursue my passion for improving services for Alaska Natives. I am also a board member for Sealaska Corporation, board chair for the Alaska Native Justice Center, a commissioner for the Alaska Native Rural Justice and Law Enforcement Commission, and as co-chair of the Alaska Federation of Natives Human Resources Committee (with my fantastic co-chair, Ralph Andersen of the Bristol Bay Native Association). I am also the pitching coach for the East Anchorage Thunderbird baseball team.
You can find our more about Chugachmiut at www.chugachmiut.org.
I always have to mention that I am the lucky father of three wonderful children and my life is greatly enriched by each of them. I graduated from the Princeton University Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1975, and the University of Michigan Law School in 1978. I have been blessed with a great education and the many people who encouraged me as a boy and young man, especially my mother, the late Patricia Mallott Moore. I strive every day to live up to their expectations of me.
I look forward to shaking your hand soon regarding opportunities for Natives of Alaska, Yukon, British Columbia and Alberta.
I am a proud father of four beautiful children and three wonderful grandchildren.
I too have benefitted greatly from the teachings of my grandfather who told me the key to success is simple, “work hard and be honest.
May our Creator continue to guide your inner being:
The Warrior – to fight for what is right
The Teacher – to teach what is good and true
The Visionary – to look to the future for the betterment of all; and
The Healer – to heal oneself first, then family, then community and then the Nation
In His Peace, your brother.

Pat, You definitely have something here. Can ANJC sponsor a forum on this for further research? I agree that the State & Feds will not be motivated to change direction. Would like to talk with you when you are back down. All the best, Carl

This is something I need to look into for my corporation back home and see if there would be some board members to also look into if it is not implemented, interesting!
Thank you,
